BOOKING PROCEDURES & CONDITIONS
Once you have contacted us with your hunting enquiry, bookings can be made via your agent or directly with Bateleur Safaris.
INSURANCE
Bateleur Safaris recommends that all clients obtain travel insurance before their safari.
DEPOSITS
Plains Game:
A minimum deposit of 40% of the total daily rate is required to confirm a booking. Trophy fees will be based on the year the hunt takes place unless 100% of the daily rate is paid upfront, in which case trophy fees will be locked at that year’s rate, unless otherwise specified in your contract.
Cape Buffalo:
A minimum deposit of $5,000 is required to confirm the booking. Trophy fees will follow the same policy as above regarding payment timing and fee locking.
A hunt is only confirmed once a contract has been signed between Bateleur Safaris and the client, and the deposit has been paid.
PAYMENT
The full balance of the daily rate is due upon arrival at camp. Trophy fees can be settled at the end of the hunt. We accept wire transfers, cash, and major credit cards.
Please note: Credit card charges may vary slightly due to exchange rate fluctuations. A 3.5% surcharge will apply to all credit card transactions.
GRATUITIES
Tips for trackers, camp staff, safari crews, and PHs are preferred in USD cash. Alternatively, you may add gratuities to your final bill, and we will distribute them according to your instructions. Consult your Professional Hunter for tipping norms. Tipping is appreciated but not expected.
WOUNDED / HARVESTED TROPHIES
Any animal wounded, hit and found, or lost will be deemed taken. The full trophy fee will apply.
CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations less than 6 months before the safari: Deposit will be forfeited unless rescheduled within the same season.

Cancellations more than 6 months before the safari: 50% of the deposit will be refunded. The remaining 50% can be credited toward a future safari within the same season.
